AFRICA | AMERICAN STORIES: IDENTITY AND DREAMS

Personal History

I come from many kinds of places.
My mom comes from Arkansas.
My dad comes from Louisiana.
 I come from a family
that works hard and likes to cook.
My family left Arkansas and Louisiana
to come to Pasadena.
My family loves Pasadena and so do I.
 I come from a family
that likes to go shopping, have parties, eat greens,
bake cornbread, and bar-b-que.
My family left Arkansas and Louisiana
because they care for me.
My family loves Pasadena and so do I.
