AFRICA | AMERICAN STORIES: IDENTITY AND DREAMS

Personal History

I come from California it may seem.
I come from a family
that likes to sing and dance,
and loves to read and write.
I come from a family
that likes to talk and travel,
and has a great attitude.
I come from a family
that isn't afraid to eat,
is not weak,
and has tight eyes.
I come from a family
that is very wise,
really hates to fight,
but says if they had to they might.
I come from a family
that can speak Pig Latin,
that is a part of different cultures,
and loves animals.
I come from a family
that hates the smell of smoke,
and loves to have fun.
That is the kind of family that I come from.
