AFRICA: ONE CONTINENT. MANY WORLDS. | COMMUNITY'S CHOICE

Door and Locks
The Dogon granary door contains representations of the Nommo, primordial ancestors who descended from heaven to bring the creative word seeds and the creative act to earth. They are male and female and represent the eight lineages of humanity. Their raised arms and/or bent legs represent the motion of their descent from heaven. The raised arms also represent petitionary prayers for revivifying rain, resurrection, and regeneration on earth.
