For a more meaningful educational experience, it is suggested that before and during a class visit to a museum, student projects be undertaken. Classroom follow-up can also be immensely beneficial. Some students might look for means of protection by mammals. A second group could study animals of desert regions, while another studies those of savanna or rain forest. Details such as teeth types, diets, reproduction, competition and so on, could be examined. A fourth group could study plants that are threatened with extinction and conservation methods aimed at preservation.
