Ceremonial items used by Bamum leaders
Before Europeans conquered the Grassfields, Bamum leaders used the following items in their important ceremonies. Some - like the buffalo drinking horn - orginally came from other Grassfields peoples and cultures. Over time, the Bamum adopted these objects and made them their own.
