Teaching Trunks
Tiniest Giants: Discovering Dinosaur Eggs

Although most lessons and books discuss the dinosaurs that we all see in movies and on television, this Teaching Trunk provides another closer look at dinosaurs from a different view – at the very first part of their life cycle, when they are born. Artifacts show up-close what these first few stages of dinosaur life look like, while the activity sets and equipment invite students to become scientists themselves and carry out an actual archeological dig. These lessons teach basic scientific facts as well as observation skills and critical thinking, showing how to hypothesize and get information from small artifacts and fossils.
