The Ancient Latin America Hall displays hundreds of objects made by the Maya, Aztec, Inca, and many other cultural groups. Ceramic vessels, figurines, personal adornment items and other artifacts from Mexico, Central, and South America are on permanent display in this hall located on the first floor.

The Anthropology department's curatorial staff is engaged in on-going laboratory and collections-based research at the Museum and in the field. Research is conducted throughout the Western hemisphere, from the Andean region of South America to the contemporary and prehistoric cultures of the American Southwest, and metropolitan Los Angeles.
