TRY PUTTING BUTTERFLIES IN YOUR STOMACH!
Insect Chef David George Gordon
This is your chance to find out what a bug tastes like! Join Insect Chef David George Gordon while he prepares tempura battered tarantula, sweet and sour silkworms, and oh, did we mention sweet Washington waxworms for dessert? There will be samples for everybody!

Robert Lang Origami
How many times can you fold a piece of paper? Join us for an eye-popping collection of origami, bug style! Meet origami artist extraordinaire Robert Lang and find out how he creates lifelike pieces of arthropod art from a mere piece of paper.

ONGOING ACTIVITIES

INSECT ENCOUNTERS
While the dinosaurs are away, the bugs will play! Watch a variety of insect themed theatrics as our talented Museum performers delight you with their six and eight-legged antics. Butterfly stilt walkers, cockroaches and spiders will emerge throughout the day.

TERRARIUM BUILDING
Ever wanted to keep a bug on your own? Learn how to make a terrarium with guidance from our Education staff. The terrarium that you make is yours to keep. Happy backyard hunting!

BUG PINNING
Handle specimens like a real entomologist! Our Education staff will guide you through the process of pinning an insect and creating a data label. After your bug is mounted and identified, it is yours to keep.

DISCOVERY CENTER
Animal handling presentations, insect story time and so much more! Stop by the Discovery Center and check out our very own Insect Zoo. Museum staff and volunteers will be sure to make your visit a special one.
