Labels
A specimen data label contains basic information that helps establish a context for a particular specimen. Labels may be handwritten or typed, but it is important to use sturdy paper and a pencil, which won’t fade over time. A label may be attached to a specimen, or in the case of a marine animal, put in the jar with it.

Here is an example of a data label for a nudibranch, Noumeaella rehderi.
