Back by popular demand! Due to the overwhelming positive response on the Opening Night, the Natural History Museum has programmed another evening of silent sets to celebrate the Sonic Scenery exhibit. So if you missed out the first time, or just want to do it all over again, this is your chance! Live silent sets by David J, Nobody and Mystic Chords of Memory, Mike Watt, Kobol, and "Farmer" Dave Scher . Hope Tschopik Schneider leads a discussion of the nature of musical interpretation with sound designers Stephen Dewey and Claude Letessier, and video game music composer Tommy Tallarico. Techno/trance master Thee-O returns to command dueling iPods by the dueling dinosaurs.
This will be the last First Fridays event for Sonic Scenery. Don't sleep on history in the making - bring your eyes, ears, and iPods over to the Museum!

9:00 SILENT SETS:

Hear them here before they head out to SXSW.
» Mike Watt – Legendary Southern California bass player Mike Watt brings his thud staff to the hall of North American Mammals for an unforgettable solo performance or as he puts it, “uno doing Dos”!
» Kobol - 2 members of Niño Astronauta improvise a set of amazing electro-jazz-DSP jams that will have your brain doing backflips.
» "Farmer" Dave Scher - Lap steel meets laptop as "Farmer" Dave (of All Night Radio, Beachwood Sparks, etc...) cultivates the unearthly music growing in distant corners of the sound fields.
