San Andreas Fault 2008 On Saturday, April 26, Gem & Mineral Council members set off by bus to explore the San Andreas Fault. Dr. Bruce A. Carter, Geology Professor Emeritus and retired Dean of Natural Sciences at Pasadena City College gave them an up-close and personal look at some of the fascinating geologic features created by the San Andreas along the northern edge of the San Gabriel Mountains between Palmdale and Wrightwood. One of the more scenic stops was at Devil’s Punchbowl where the group enjoyed a picnic lunch. |
