EMPLOYMENT | POSITIONS AT THE NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUMGALLERY INTERPRETER The Education Department of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County seeks GALLERY INTERPRETERS responsible for interacting with museum guests and for providing information about the museum's halls, exhibits, and programs to the general public. Gallery Interpreters design and present educational experiences to school and family groups, and assist in programs and activities throughout the museum, including the Discovery Center. Because a primary responsibility in the Discovery Center and Insect Zoo involves the presentation of live animals, Gallery Interpreters are expected to acquire proficiency handling and teaching with the resident animals. Gallery Interpreters are expected to maintain a visible and approachable presence at all times. Candidates must demonstrate the following education, skills and experience:
