SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS (Version 2.0)

• 600 MHz Pentium 3 or better (1 GHz or faster recommended)
• 192 MB RAM (512 MB or more recommended)

• Windows 2000 Professional with SP4 or higher (Windows XP with SP2 or higher recommended)
• DVD-ROM drive
• Sound card (for mineral name pronunciations)
• At least 24-bit color and 1024x768 resolution
• Mouse or similar pointing device
• 5 GB of free HD space recommended
Note: For best functionality and speed we highly recommend that all content be copied to your hard disk (about 4 GB).

Note that Version 2.0 of the Photo-Atlas of Minerals uses Microsoft's SQL Server 2005 Express, which it installs on your computer. The Photo-Atlas was developed using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005. Please check the Microsoft website for more specific information on these programs.
