Archaeology the study of material remains of past human life and activities

Artifact portable object made by people in the past
Collections Manager one whose primary responsibility is to properly care and store the artifacts of a particular discipline's collection; for further information, go to Collection Care & Preventative Conservation
Cultural Anthropology anthropology that deals with human culture especially with respect to social structure, language, law, politics, religion, magic, art, and technology
Curator one who is in charge of, interprets, and researches a material collection; Curators at NHM are also charged with the responsibility of creating exhibits for the public, and publishing results of their own personal research
Curator Emeritus retired Curator
Curatorial Assistant one who assists in collection management
Ethnology similar to Cultural Anthropology, the comparative and analytical study of contemporary human cultures
Linguistics the study of human speech including the units, nature, structure, and modification of language
Physical Anthropology anthropology concerned with the comparative study of human evolution, variation, and classification especially through measurement and observation
