Intersections Speaker’s Series
The Intersections Speaker’s Series is an on-going series of dialogues that bring together varied constituencies in an interaction environment. Through the exchange of diverse views, the series attempts to forward new understandings of the fluid cultural and social dynamics of Los Angeles. These forums are meant to encourage critical thinking around these subject areas.

Changing L.A. Forums
In partnership with other organizations in the city, the Changing L.A. Forums focus on race, ethnicity and cultural change. Instead of seeing diversity as a point of division, the Forums see diversity as an asset to the growth of Los Angeles. This approach goes beyond merely reflecting about difference to think about how to marshal diversity in the effort to affect change and build community cohesion.

Julian C. Dixon Institute Research Program

The Julian C. Dixon Institute Research Program is a research program focusing on undergraduate research. The Program allows students to conduct ethnographic field research in Los Angeles. Students will have the opportunity to conduct research related to the current work of the Julian C. Dixon Institute for Cultural Studies, other cultural institutions and community based organizations in Los Angeles. Students receive academic credit for their work each semester.
