This rare gem variety was discovered in the Urals in 1833, the same year that Czar Alexander II was born. This exceptional stone is mounted with diamonds in a bracelet, which was acquired by the donor's grandfather in Russia in 1887.

Weight: approx. 15 carats

Acquired: 1987 donation from Elizabeth Pedder.

Disposition: On display in the Hixon Gem Vault exhibit.
