Well-formed anatase crystals larger than 1 cm are very rare. Until about twenty years the finest crystals came from the Alps. Today the largest and finest crystals known are from Hardangervidda in Norway. This excellent crystal is only about half as large as the best from this occurrence.

Size: 2.2 cm tall

Acquired: 1995 Gem & Mineral Council purchase.

Disposition: Planned for display in the Systematic Mineralogy exhibit.
