Phenakite is a rare gem of interest only to collectors. Faceted stones rarely exceed 20 carats in weight. Although slightly hazy internally, this is by far the largest faceted phenakite on record.

Acquired: 1980 donation from Jerome and Lois Waldref.

Disposition: On display in the Hixon Gem Vault exhibit.
