MINERAL SCIENCES RESEARCH

Original scientific research is conducted principally in the areas of descriptive mineralogy and structural crystallography focusing on the characterization of new or inadequately described minerals. Other research interests include crystal chemistry, pegmatite phosphate minerals, oxidation zone minerals, gem minerals, and pegmatite deposits.

Publications by department staff include scientific papers and abstracts and popular articles.
