DIAMOND Ring
C Russia (18th Century)
This ring was given by Catherine the Great of Russia to one of her Maids-of-Honor. The crudely cut and polished diamonds probably came from Brazil, the most important diamond source in the mid-18th century. The setting is made of yellow and white gold and the inset blue enamel is damaged.
Acquired: 1974 donation from Mr. & Mrs. Richard G. Haverstick.
Disposition: On display in the Hixon Gem Vault exhibit.
Catalog Number: 15519
