Scientists differ on their views of how Pteranodon, a large flying reptile, moved on land. Did it use only its hind feet, or did it walk on all-fours?

Description: Flying Reptile

Specimen Location: Niobrara Chalk of Northwestern Kansas

Name Means: "winged and toothless"

Pteranodon was a large flying reptile belonging to the group of animals called Archosaurs, which also included crocodiles and dinosaurs. Although Pteranodon was NOT a dinosaur, it was more closely related to dinosaurs than the other reptiles in this exhibit.
