See | Hear is a catalog presenting the innovative concepts underlying two recent experimental exhibitions - Conversations: Collections, Artists, Curators and Sonic Scenery: Music for Collections - developed at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
Created by the Public Programs Department at the Museum, these exhibitions offer new approaches to the use and interpretation of museum collections and extend the ways visitors appreciate them. See | Hear provides a foundation for the presentation of innovative museum displays that emphasize the importance of imagination as part of the experience.
The See | Hear concepts were recently adopted by Naturalis, the national natural history museum of The Netherlands for Conversations Los Angeles Leiden: Nature and the City, a collaborative exhibition in Leiden. Working with the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles, Naturalis was able to create a truly unique exhibit that engaged their visitors in unexpected ways.
