Unlike some cultural institutions, the Natural History Museum welcomes weddings and other personal celebrations in addition to corporate affairs and fellow non-profit organizations.

A Taste of History

Fellows members have the opportunity to see the Museum's vast collection of historical artifacts from Hollywood memorabilia, automobiles and cookbooks. Enjoy a unique meal at one of Los Angeles' historic sites with one of our history experts for a delightful Taste of History!

They're Alive!

Keep an eye out for the lifelike dinosaur puppets that sometimes roam Level 2.They're part of our educational Dinosaur Encounters program, and their design is based on paleontological research. Don't worry, our young T. rex friend won't bite! Learn more >

Celebrate You!

Whether it’s your parents’ 50th wedding anniversary or your great-nephew’s Bar Mitzvah, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County wants to make your family history a part of our own. 

Every rental includes:

  • 1-year, VIP Fellows-level membership to the Natural History Museum Family of Museums (which includes the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, the Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits and the William S. Hart Park and Museum);
  • Rental of the event space from 6 pm-11 pm (later times available, see below for pricing);
  • Use of “non-event” galleries for photography (some restrictions apply);
  • All security, housekeeping, operations and event management staffing;
  • All taxes and service charges

 

The spaces available for special events are the Grand Foyer, the African Mammal Hall, the North American Mammal Hall, the Fin Whale Passage and, beginning August 2010, the Rotunda. They can be used in any number of ways, depending on your guest count and the elements of your party.  You can print our price sheet here, or, for more information on pricing, availability and other museum opportunities, please call our Special Events Office at (213) 763-3221.
