"The arts have this ability to capture the imagination, and I think if you can give that gift to students — [by embracing] creativity, innovation, and exploration — they can take their learning to amazing heights, because it's not just something on a page, it's something they've experienced."
— Lee Arvinger, California Dance Institute

Have you ever seen a microphotograph of a glittering gemstone that knocked you off your feet? Or how about an image from the Hubble Space Telescope that left in you in awe at the beauty of the universe?
Our Art + Science series is a family day for discovering the infinite ways that Art and Science intersect in our world, and for losing yourself in a day of games, workshops, and performance art.
Designers, artists and illustrators, from the Museum and beyond, will be on hand to talk about the many ways that art enriches our understanding of science — for instance, think about the artistry behind all those lifelike dioramas at your favorite museum (hint: that's us) bringing science to life.
On the flip side, we also look at how the laws of science play into the creation of our most fantastic works of art and how science and the natural world have inherent beauty.
So join us, and discover what Art + Science = for you!
