To Plan a Field Trip, Follow These Steps!
Decide to Visit
Pre K to grade 12, a trip to NHM will help you meet California State Standards including Natural Science and Social Science standards. Click here to see how your trip ties to Open Court Reading Themes.
For many school districts, a district representative will make a reservation for you and arrange transportation. For a list of district contacts click here.

Make Your Visit Memorable
Decide how you will spend your time at the Museum, and print out Teachable Moments and Expanding Experiences documents. Consider booking field trip extras, a docent tour or presentation to enhance your visit. Use our School Visit Registration Worksheet to ensure you have all the necessary information to book your visit.
Confirm Your Visit
A school visits representative will respond to your reservation request within one week. Two weeks prior to your visit, you will receive a registration confirmation that includes School Visits Guidelines.
