Becoming Los Angeles at NHM with UCLA Center X History/Geography Project

Explore the last five centuries of interaction between Southern Californians and the environment and discover how we became L.A.! From Angel’s Flight and Clifton’s Cafeteria to a time where rivers and roads were free of concrete and cattle roamed the city — you’ll be intrigued by our local history. Though particularly suited for third and fourth grade educators, all educators will find the information on urban development and the personal stories Los Angeles valuable.
Becoming Los Angeles with Ryman Arts

Join Ryman Arts and the Natural History Museum for a morning of interdisciplinary fun! We'll tour the Museum's newest permanent exhibit, Becoming Los Angeles, then explore ways to use it to enhance art, creative writing and history learning. Come on your own or with a team, and leave with materials to take back to the classroom.
