Make the most of your field trip with lessons and activities that prepare, engage, and provoke your student's learning. Created by a team of expert teachers and arts educators, our lessons and activities offer standards based, grade specific, interdisciplinary ways to turn your Museum visit into a rewarding experience for students, teachers, and chaperones.
Preparing a few simple activities for your students to do in the Museum is a great way to provide focus. Search Teachable Moments: A Guide For Your Field Trip for grade specific ideas to use in five of our permanent galleries.
A more in-depth approach, these lessons are built around grade-specific essential questions and offer a sequence of pre, during, and post-field trip activities.
Our teacher materials are developed by educators with extensive experience as classroom teachers and art educators, and deep understanding of working with museum content. Learn about their ongoing work as part of the Education & Arts Roundtable.
