Dinosaur Tour:

Group Sales Admission Rates

These discounted group rates are available to groups of 10 or more with a reservation booked at least 72 hours in advance of your visit. Special exhibits, tours, and the Butterfly Pavilion and Spider Pavilion have an additional charge.

Adults: $10.25
Seniors (62 years+): $7.50

Students (13 years - Adult w/ college ID): $7.50
Children (3-12 years):  $4.25

Pterosaurs: Flight in the Age of Dinosaurs July 3 - October 2, 2016 
Group Tickets Now On Sale

Millions of years ago, the skies were ruled by pterosaurs. They flew with their fingers. They walked on their wings. Some were gigantic; others could fit in the palm of your hand. In this interactive exhibition learn about the diverse species of these flying reptiles, get up close with rare fossils, and fly your own pterosaur with the whole-body motion capture interactive.

Butterfly Pavilion Opening this Summer

Wander through a unique changing ecosystem and witness over 30 species of free-flying butterflies interacting with plant life all around you.

Spider Pavilion  Opening this Fall

Marvel at hundreds of spiders spinning their intricate webs in our one-of-a-kind Spider Pavilion. Get up close to all things creepy crawly and witness free-ranging spiders spinning their spectacular webs for all to see.

A timed-ticket is needed for our Special Offerings, and Pavilion times fill up fast. We recommend you make your reservation when you book your group.

Explore our Nature Gardens, see the amazing plant life and the wildlife it attracts. Learn how our researchers are studying the incredible biodiversity that calls Los Angeles home in this new outdoor exhibit.

Tours can be added for a group of 10 or more people and one week advance notice is required for a group tour.

The Dinosaur Experience

Experience for yourself what it’s like to be a part of our Dino Institute.  Start with a private tour of the Dinosaur Hall lead by one of our Gallery Interpreters and get a closer look at some of the new discoveries made by NHM’s Dinosaur Institute in the field of paleontology.

Afterwards go off-exhibit with a member of our Dino Institute into our collections area to see fossils not on display to the public. Travel through the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous time periods in our behind-the-scenes collections. Experience for yourself what it is like to work on dinosaur bones inside our actual Paleontology Lab.  Here you will be able to get hands-on with a real dinosaur bone and help extract it from the matrix that surrounds it. Recommended for any dinosaur lover or paleontological enthusiast.

Minimum of 3 people and maximum of 12 for The Dino Experience Tour.  This tour is offered weekdays, subject to availability. Reservations must be made with 2 weeks advance notice. Call 213-763-3218 for more information or to make your reservation.

Scheduling Your Visit

To schedule a group visit e-mail us at groupsalesNH@nhm.org or contact the Group Sales Office at (213) 763-3218.  Your group is welcome to visit the Museum anytime during normal visitor hours, 9:30 am - 5 pm, seven days a week.

If you would like to schedule a visit to the Butterfly Pavilion, Spider Pavilion or add a tour to your group visit, please call us at (213) 763-3218, as availability for these areas is limited and/or seasonal.

 

Our Preferred Affiliate Ticketing Program is great for companies and organizations looking to either sell Museum tickets to their customers or looking for a way their employees can easily purchase special tickets and packages. We make it easy to purchase tickets online, print them on site or at home and have them e-mailed directly to your customers or employees for their visit.

This is an easy way for Tour Operators who offer FIT ticketing to include the Natural History Museum and La Brea Tar Pits and Museum into their Los Angeles travel offerings.
